Pastor Dretha Burris is passionate about ministry.  She believes her role as well as the role of the church is to do 3 things - first and foremost to point people to Jesus Christ, second to bring up the next generation of new Christians of all ages, and third, the community should be a better place because the church is in it.  Pastor Dretha spent 31 years in public education in a variety of positions - secretary, teacher, counselor, assistant principal, and principal.  Pastor Dretha is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has specialized in working with adolescents/children, families and geriatrics.  She has experience with Children's Ministry, Youth Ministry, Adult discipleship, pastoral care, pastoral counseling, missions, outreach and worship.

Pastor Dretha serves on the Commission of Archives and History for the North Texas Conference.  Pastor Dretha is one of the members of the North Texas Conference Congregational, Assessment, Response and Transformations teams (CART) for Crisis and also participates in the CART Team for Conflict.  She also serves on the District Committee on Ordained Ministry for the North Central District of North Texas Conference.

Pastor Dretha's two daughters are married and each has a child.  The older daughter has a baby boy and the younger daughter has a baby girl.

Pastor Dretha feels so blessed to be part of this amazing church and community!
