I was born and raised in Alabama. My dad still lives in the same house my parents bought when they were engaged in 1964. I am a graduate of Auburn University and am an Auburn Tigers fan. I moved to Texas in 1995 and was supposed to be here for only 6 months. I fell in love with a Sunday school class at Highland Park UMC and decided to stay. Then I fell in love with Steve and decided to stay even longer. Steve and I were married in 2001 and moved to Lavon the same year. We enjoy bicycling and RVing.

My first career was as a software engineer. During this time I taught adult Sunday school and Bible studies. God got my attention, and I began to explore a call to full-time ministry in January 2007. I started seminary later that year and graduated from Perkins School of Theology in 2009. My first appointment as an associate pastor began in 2012. During that year I completed licensing school to be a local pastor and I completed my Course of Study School work in 2014. Community UMC marks my first appointment as a solo/senior pastor.

I have a passion for Scripture, teaching, and preaching. I also love missions work and evangelism.
